Have you ever blogged before? I signed up for a blog about 8 months ago. So far, I have written multiple paragraphs, upon paragraphs, upon paragraphs, and -without hesitation- deleted them. At various moments in the past 8 months, I have randomly said to myself ‘I really should get back to work on that blog.’ The thought crossed myself again today while in the shower (my best thoughts are in the shower), and decided that will be my project for today…

I started this project at 11:00 this morning and it’s currently 9:00 IN THE EVENING, and now can recall why I have waited so long to work on this blog. Apparently my mind suppressed the stressful memories that I suffered 8 months ago from my attempts to working on this thing called a blog. And -yes- I called it “a blog”, because at this time I am not ready to claim ownership on this thing yet. I don’t want someone to stumble across this blog on page 53 of a Google search and it has my name associated with it.

I did not realize how much effort goes into establishing a blog, it’s not just writing your feelings and clicking the Publish button. Did you know if you want to add a picture to your blog you can, but if you want to add it to your “latest blog posts” on your blog homepage you can add a feature image, but then when you check the blog post your layout changes completely. So then you find yourself going down this rabbit hole because you Googled “how to hide a feature image from a blog post” to learn you can add a plugin (I learned what that was, too) only to find out that you can only use plugins if you pay a small fortune. However, some blog templates may have the option to hide a feature image so you change your entire customization only to find out that THEY WERE WRONG. And don’t get me started on the possibility of html coding. I may be in my 30s, but I know how to code. I had my own Titanic Fanfiction website back in the day (anyone out there remember Angelfire?).

So, if you’re still reading (omg, you’re still reading?!), you may be asking yourself if I am giving up. The answer is no, after several failed attempts (lets call them learning curves), I am not at all satisfied with my – I mean “the”- blog’s home page. For this reason I decided to regroup and start cleaning up my post. Because literally all I did 8 months ago was add a title, and some pictures. Now the post has words and MORE pictures. (te-hehe)

This is the part of the post where I do the equivalent of Ashley Simpson doing that weird dance when she got caught lip syncing on SNL (don’t act like you forgot) because I am terrible at closing paragraphs…

Epilogue

2 years, 8 months, 6 days later, I sit here in an empty house with ambient music playing and my crystals in close proximity to ward off any negative thoughts that would prevent me abandoning this project once again. The ear buds are in to help me stay on target, but the urge to go find my dog and give her belly rubs (her favorite) grows stronger with every key stroke.

To be honest, I can’t recall why I never published the blog. But if I had to guess, I would think it was because I was was worried what others would think of it. The idea of including a blog with photography is it helps get your name out there if you unlock the secrets of the SEO.

I am hoping that this time (I’ve lost track on what attempt this is) will be successful!
